Maddy & Nick | Dreamy autumn estes park wedding | Colorado wedding photographer

You know when you instantly connect with a person on another level? As if you know their vision right away and how they view the world and nature? That is how I felt when I met Maddy and Nick. They were at a wedding I shot in 2019 and inquired about their own wedding in Estes Park. I knew I had to shoot for them because they are just the sweetest, most down to Earth couple a photographer could ask for. After their epic engagement photos with their dogs in a random town called Rollinsville that I had never heard of, I knew their wedding was going to be colorful and magical.

October in Estes Park is something of a dream. The colors are changing, there is a chill in the air and you can hear the Elk echoing in the forests. I booked myself a hostel and decided to get into Estes Park early, so I could sip a coffee by the stream that runs along it. I may have poked my head into a used bookshop too. I am all about enjoying life and my job, so when I show up to get those getting ready shots, I am in a good mindset. Maddy and Nick's venue, The Landing at Estes Park, looks somewhat European. The buildings look like they are made out of gingerbread. So obviously I was immediately in love with it.

I could tell Maddy was a bit nervous but so ready to marry her best friend. Nick was in charge of the dogs and hanging out with his family, so he seemed just fine. I was starting to worry myself, as the rain started. But sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. In the end it didn't matter, as soon as Maddy walked down the steps in the rain to her new husband, the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared (I like to think it was Maddy's mom shining down on her, telling her how happy she was).

While the ceremony was outside, Plume and Furrow absolutely nailed the reception with their florals. Which is what I expected, as I had been fan girl-ing over their work for a while. There was an ice cream sandwich bar, food from all over the world and a ton of dancing. The moon was bright that night and the energy was just sheer joy for the new couple.

Magic, just magic.
