Denise & Nick | Woodsy Wedding at La Foret | Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer

When Denise first contacted me about her wedding, she was planning the entire thing from Georgia. Planning a wedding from afar is never an easy task but what Denise and Nick pulled together was beautiful. When the day finally arrived, it was absolutely down pouring. The original plan was that the ceremony was going to take place in the meadow outside but the rain meant it moved into the historic chapel at La Foret. This concerned me at first but once I walked in, I was in love. It was unlike any chapel my New England eyes had seen.

The bridal parties get ready in little log cabins and waited for the rain to stop. Miraculously, it stopped just before the ceremony. Denise walked down the aisle to one of my favorite Gregory Alan Isakov songs ever and the look on Nick's face was complete shock at her beauty. Their vows had me sobbing. Nick had recently lost his mother and you could tell it bonded them together and solidified their relationship in deeper ways. I can honestly say I haven't heard vows that beautiful before.

Bridals and detail shots are the most fun for me. The venue and chapel had ample options for unique bridal portraits. The sun broke through the trees and shined on the newlyweds. I could tell they were all antsy to party though so we made them quick! Their dog definitely stole the show though...

The reception took place at a hall not too far from the chapel. The bride and groom went into their first dance surrounded by the people they loved. They also signed their marriage license to make it official, even though a name change won't be a problem for Denise. Believe it or not....they both have the same last name by chance. Soul mates much?

I can not thank Denise and Nick enough for choosing me to be a part of their best day ever. I had such a blast and got to photograph a beautiful venue and couple.
