Rebecca and Billy: A Rainy and Timeless Cape Cod Wedding in the Spring | NEW ENGLAND FILM PHOTOGRAPHER

I'll never forget sitting down and hopping on a call with Rebecca and Billy. It was like we had known each other forever; with Billy's family being from Ireland and Becca being the most New England person on Earth (besides myself of course) I knew right from the start that I would be able to photograph their wedding from the heart.

When wedding day finally came, the weather decided to throw us a curveball. The forecast said rain, without any breaks, as a hello from the Spring time. My biggest advice to myself was to lean into it; preserve the essence of the rain and the beauty of it rather than try to make it something it is not. Becca was a good sport regardless and we even had the chance for a break in the rain after mass for some fun bridal party and couples portraits. A little gift from God as the Catholics would say.

When I reflect back on this day; I remember the feeling of coming out of slow season and bursting with the need to create. I remember the true connection and happiness between Becca and Billy and their families. I remember the perfect pour of Guiness Billy made sure I had. I remember Becca wanting to recreate certain moments with her mom on film, because they were important to her. I remember tulips and how Becca tried to grow her own bouquet and the garden still hadn't bloomed. I especially remember the party. While the staff at the Sagamore Inn constantly battled rain pouring into the tent, the party went on without a hitch.
