Caitlin and Jeff: A Nostalgic October Engagement Session at Harkness State Park in Waterford, CT | Connecticut Film Photographer

A lot of photographers do not believe in complimentary engagement sessions for their couples. I am not one of them and for this reason; the sheer honor of getting to know my couples before their wedding day is worth the feeling of ease on the wedding day itself.

Caitlin and Jeff booked me for their Vermont wedding next year and I immediately knew they were my people. Caitlin even cut and pasted a moodboard collage rather than turning to Pinterest, which reminded me of something I would do too. When looking for a location, we knew we wanted a place that had gardens and screamed New England and we knew it had to be shot on film.

I have spent a lot of time in Connecticut, since my sister lives in East Lyme and yet had no idea that this historic estate was there and open to the public. Harkness sits on the ocean and doesn't feel like New England, but rather a piece of land in Italy. We were lucky enough to have one of the best sunsets I have ever seen and warmer than usual autumnal weather.

Having clients who trust my vision and know how excited I am to bring it to their photos means the world to me. If the engagement photos were this good....I can't even begin to imagine how the wedding is going to be.
